Thule 915 Roadway Hitch Bike Rack Reviews
The Thule 915 Roadway five bicycle hitch mount bike rack continues where the discontinued Thule 951XT left off. The 915 is constructed and designed very similarly to the 951XT, except that Thule Racks added the Hitch Switch feature, that allows the two bike arms on the hitch rack that stick out to quickly fold down when not using the carrier to transport bikes. This does make it much easier to maneuver in/out of parking spaces and fitting into garages. The 915 is also now compatible with Thule Racks STL2 Snug Tite lock, which improves upon the former STL hitch lock. The STL2 hitch lock securely locks the bike rack to the 2 inch hitch receiver. It also does double duty of ensuring there's no rack wobble when the bikes are loaded up and in transit (which we tested on a 2006 Saturn VUE, 2007 Infiniti FX45 & 2005 Nissan Pathfinder Armada). Even though the bicycles do mount tightly on the T3 Cradles, we did experience a noticeable amount of bike sway which was eliminated when we added the 955 No Sway Cages accessory to the T3 Cradles. Overall a nice, solid carrier for five bikes, but we do recommend adding the stability and security accessories for worry-free transport.
